Optimal Axial-Probe Design for Foucault-Current Tomography: A Global Optimization Approach Based on Linear Sampling Method

This paper is concerned with the optimal design of axial probes, commonly used in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) tube boiling steam generators. The goal to improve low-frequency Foucault-current imaging these deposits by designing a novel probe. approach uses combination an inverse problem solver global optimization find probe characteristics minimizing function merit defined using image processing techniques. evaluation computationally intensive and surrogate used, incorporating multi-particle search algorithm. proposed validated through numerical experiments aims accuracy efficiency identifying generator tubes.
